Guru (Brihaspati) represents wisdom, dharma, children, husband (for women), wealth and teachers in Vedic astrology. When Guru (Brihaspati) is weak, debilitated, retrograde or afflicted in the kundli, or during its Mahadasha and Antardasha, a person may experience delay in marriage, issues with children, lack of guidance and liver problems. Guru (Brihaspati) Graha Shanti Puja is the Vedic remedy: the graha is invoked on its mandal with yellow flowers and cloth, its beej mantra is chanted 19,000 times (as prescribed in the shastras), and a havan with Peepal samidha completes the anushthan. Daan of chana dal, turmeric, yellow cloth, books is done in your name. The puja is performed on Thursday, the day ruled by Guru (Brihaspati).
