About
Rahu represents illusion, sudden events, foreign lands, technology and obsession in Vedic astrology. When Rahu is weak, debilitated, retrograde or afflicted in the kundli, or during its Mahadasha and Antardasha, a person may experience confusion, addiction, sudden losses, fear, deception and Kaal Sarp effects. Rahu Graha Shanti Puja is the Vedic remedy: the graha is invoked on its mandal with smoky blue flowers and cloth, its beej mantra is chanted 18,000 times (as prescribed in the shastras), and a havan with Durva samidha completes the anushthan. Daan of black til, blanket, coconut, mustard is done in your name. The puja is performed on Saturday, the day ruled by Rahu.
